What Upsizers Should Expect From Midlothian, Texas Home Prices in June 2026
Midlothian, TXIf you're moving up, I would pay as much attention to space as to price. The latest median sold price was $489,990, but the homes that closed covered a wide range of sizes, so the right move-up choice is about fit, not just a bigger number on the page. Bigger is not automatically better.
The recent closings were heaviest under 2,200 square feet, and there was another meaningful group between 2,200 and 2,600 square feet. Homes between 2,800 and 3,600 square feet also showed up, but in smaller numbers. That mix tells me larger homes are available, yet they are not spread evenly across every size band. For a move-up buyer, that is useful because it narrows the search to the homes that actually fit your next chapter.
That means your search should begin with the floor plan you truly need, not the biggest house you can stretch toward. Price alone will not tell you enough. If you want more space, you still need to decide early whether you will trade on lot size, condition, or finish level, because those choices change how a home feels long after closing. The right house should solve a problem, not create a new one.
Compare the latest closed prices against the space you need, then rank your must-haves before you tour anything. Ask how much of the budget you want tied up in square footage and how much you want left for updates, furnishings, or future flexibility. I would also ask for a side-by-side look at recent sales by size so you can see whether the extra room is actually earning its price or just asking for more from your budget.
