State of the Great Park
From 4 to 7 p.m. at Great Park Live, the City of Irvine is inviting the community to an interactive State of the Great Park program. Residents can hear updates from city leaders, explore exhibits on park milestones and future development, and enjoy music, dance, and hands-on activities. It is a timely chance to learn where one of Irvine's biggest civic projects stands and what may be coming next.
Splash into Safety Night
Families can head to William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center at 5:30 p.m. for Splash into Safety, a water safety themed movie night with swimming, inflatable obstacle courses, diving board fun, and a big-screen showing of The Parent Trap. The event also includes a water safety booth and a life jacket exchange for non-approved flotation devices. Admission is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children.
Campus Drive Safety Workshop
The City of Irvine will host a public kickoff workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. at University Community Park for the Campus Drive Complete Streets and Safety Study. The study focuses on the stretch between University Drive and Turtle Rock Drive, an area the city says has one of Irvine's highest crash rates and heavy pedestrian and micromobility activity. This meeting gives residents an early opportunity to learn about the project and help shape possible safety and mobility improvements.
Free Grocery Food Box
Eligible Irvine residents can pick up a free grocery food box from 9 a.m. to noon at Great Park Parking Lot 2. The city, working with Community Action Partnership of Orange County, says each box weighs about 30 pounds and may include produce, canned and frozen vegetables, juice, dairy, meat, rice, cereal, pasta, and other staples. Distribution is first come, first served, while supplies last.
