About Tukwila, WA
Discover what makes Tukwila such a great place to live and explore.
Tukwila sits just south of Seattle with a practical, down-to-earth feel shaped by long-standing residential pockets and busy commercial corridors. Many people appreciate the mix of living options, from apartment communities near major shopping and transit to townhomes and single-family streets tucked back from the main roads. It’s a diverse place where everyday errands, dining, and services are close at hand, which can make day-to-day life feel simple and connected.
Getting around is one of Tukwila’s biggest draws, with quick access to I-5, I-405, and nearby light rail and commuter rail options, plus an easy trip to Sea-Tac Airport. When the sky is gray and the air feels fresh, locals still make use of the Green River Trail, Fort Dent Park, and sports facilities like Starfire for a bit of outdoor time. Westfield Southcenter anchors the area with shopping and entertainment, and the surrounding neighborhood spots add plenty of casual choices for coffee, international food, and low-key meetups.
